How To Get low Cost Health Care

Americans are finding the cost of health insurance increasing, so that the need for affordable health care is on the rise. Many companies are now increasing the charges, for providing this service to their workers or cutting back on the level of cover. In this instance I speak with experience because my health care service has reduced this year for the first time ever. Last fall, out of the blue, we were informed that our health care provider was going to be switched to a cheaper alternative.
To make the system fair to everyone, the health care provider would need to change. Many people I have spoken to are happy with the new insurance and that I am just as well provided for. It is not that I am against the company trying to save money and make it more equal but twice the amount is now taken from my paychecks each month so that the rest of my family can be on the policy. Lower cost cover may be available for all my colleagues now plus the company has saved money but if I want to keep my family on the plan, I will have to settle for a lower income.
I liked the previous company and so far I am not as impressed with the new one although the health care plan does not seem that bad. For many of us, higher out of pocket expenses and less in our paychecks is the only result of this pursuit of an affordable health care plan. You see, four years ago, I gave birth to a little girl and of course my old insurance paid for the whole of my hospital stay. Today, if I had a baby, it would cost me around four thousand dollars for my expenses.
Keep in mind that although I would have to pay hospital fees, there is also the small matter of my co-pays as well. There is obviously a market for these schemes because more and more affordable health care options are becoming available. Some people are even able to get free health care, also single mothers or families where an employment scheme is not available are having the opportunity to join low cost plans. The problem is when a small number of people take advantage of a system that was designed for those that needed it most.
Perhaps some form of means testing is needed for people so that only genuine cases have the benefit of affordable health care. Sometimes it is hard because your conscience says you should help but you know that many people that do not deserve help will benefit and the taxpayer is the one who pays. My employer definitely found advantages in finding a lower cost health plan provider for their employees! All too often this happens where the only one that really benefits is the company, who seem quite happy that many of their employees will take home less. Something needs to be done in this country to offset rising costs and provide more affordable health care to those who are in need.
