Brain Injury Rehabilitation Care Home

June 3rd, 2010 by admin

When a person suffers a brain injury they and their loved ones face the difficult decision of finding a place for them to live once they leave the hospital.

In some cases a person with brain injury can be cared for in the home. Unfortunately home care is not a viable option in every case.

Some persons with brain injuries maybe sent to a rehabilitation hospital, a facility that helps people recover from serious injuries. A rehabilitation hospital can help a person recover but it is not necessarily a long term solution. Patients will usually have to leave a rehabilitation hospital after a few months.

The best place for a person with a brain injury could be a brain injury rehabilitation care home. This is a facility that provides both long term care and rehabilitation therapy to improve the patient’s conditions.

Such a facility is not a nursing home because it can provide therapy as well as care. Nursing homes can only provide care for the severely injured.

A person searching for a facility for a person who has suffered a brain injury must locate a home that provides both care and rehabilitation. Without rehabilitation the patient will not get better.
