Hernia Repair Through Laparoscopic Surgeries

Whenever there is any defect in abdominal muscle or a region of any internal organs (mainly intestines) it leads to pushing down of organ resulting in hernia. The predisposing factors can be genetic or mechanical that is lifting heavy weights. This type of condition can occur in both men and women. The main treatment of hernia is through surgery only. There are three types of hernia. First one is reducible hernia, second one is incarcerated hernia and third one is strangulated hernia.
If we talk about inguinal hernia it is due to any defect in groin and is not of any individual weakness. This type of hernia occurs in those which are involved in any physical activities. In most of cases males are more prone to develop this kind of hernia.
The treatment of hernia takes place by two methods. First is by large incision means and second is through laparoscopy (which comes under laparoscopic training program).
In case of inguinal hernia it can be treated by giving an incision in the groin. The incision is 10 to 15cm long which extends through different muscle layers till the defect muscle is not isolated.
The other technique is laparoscopic hernia repair which does not involve a large dermis or muscle to be cut. This operation takes place in selected laparoscopic hospital. In this operation two small incisions are made via which a patch of mesh is attached to the defected region. This patch allows the patient to do his normal daily activities.
