For the ten percent of women who suffer with either endometriosis or PCOS, the complaint can be considerably worse each month. Sometimes it is ok, but at other times I truly feel like someone has squeezed my midsection with a large vice, and I just can’t get free.

There are times when nothing seems to give me any relief but someone suggested I try a heat pad on my stomach which worked quite well although sometimes it works better against my back. Many women that try this method are those that just prefer not to take any form of oral medication. For women that have menstrual cramps that pretty much disable them completely, they may want to find something stronger. If this is a problem that affects your work attendance then you may need to do something about it before it damages your chance of promotion.

This situation really needs to be stopped as soon as possible so an appointment with your doctor to find another form of menstrual cramp relief would be a good idea. Quite often it can be a simple case of being prescribed one of the birth control pills as these are effective for many women and this might be something your doctor recommends. The discomfort you feel from your cramps might be a long term problem if you have planned to get pregnant but if this isn’t the case then your doctor should be able to advise you if you are in any danger while on the Pill. You can get relief from those awful cramps if you try enough different remedies because it is only a matter of time.
