The thing about the avoidance of alcohol abuse or use issues by most people with the shrewd ones in particular, can be a good scheme, but it won’t be long before it wears off. Early warnings about alcohol, the real problems that is, not the imaginary ones, would help people and help stop some of the misconceptions many of us believe.

Although the said symptoms may occur in accord with each other, still, the presence of just one symptom should be enough to raise an alarm. The reasons can be attributed to feeling of alienation, lethargy and complete lack of any activity either mental or physical. Usually, when one reaches to this point, the standard approach is correcting the deficiency which can often lead the person back to the healthy manner of use, however, one thing that can speed up the process and be an aid towards achieving the most desired results is through counselling.
While restoration of normal and healthy drinking habit is the usual practice, but complete cessation from drinking for at least one or two years is highly recommended. Most people practice this never to tough alcohol ever and find more productive and beneficial ways to lead their lives. When the self is complete overpowered and imbued with alcohol at the mental, physical and psychological levels, it results in alcohol addiction or alcoholism. Distinct withdrawal symptoms – physical (i.e. tremors, seizures) and psychological ones (i.e. blackouts) – are present and alcohol related disintegration in several areas of life (i.e. financial, legal, vocational, marital, recreational, social, medical) is present. While approximately a third of diagnosed alcoholics return to moderate drinking, this is not generally recommended.
Considering the serious impact it has on the drinker’s social, emotional, physical and psychological areas of life this stage calls for medical therapy as well as profession advice and guidance. Since recovery is never an easy process, results may vary and the likelihood that success will come its way isn’t that clear, although, you should always look in the brighter side of life and let the person’s willpower reach its zenith united with the proper motivation to avoid the feeling of helplessness. Situations where the person is completely dependent on alcohol or is a victim of alcohol abuse can be restored to normal healthy limits when the individual drinks in moderation. Just under 60 percent of Americans diagnosed as alcohol addicts or suffering from alcoholism were able to cut down their consumption and bring it down to moderate levels within one year according to National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism.
If you have concerns about your own situation, or that of a loved one or friend, look for help where options exist, not where a single “program” is inflicted on everyone regardless of their condition. As much as possible, don’t ever indulge yourself or let anybody you know be a victim of treatments offering a single option since they cater to your condition which is not even considered a disease just like the way they homogeneously treat deadly diseases such as cancer in every types and stages.
