The Importance of Menstrual Cramp Explained

November 10th, 2008 by admin

Many women get to a point in their lives when they just think that their own bodies are rebelling against them. The whole world over, most women suffer with menstrual cramp to some greater or lesser degree, irrespective of how normal their cycle is. The situation can be made worse for approximately one in ten women who suffer with PCOS or Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, a hormonal problem for women who are pre-menopausal. There are a few women that seem to suffer no pain at all, whereas many have them so bad they can barely get out of bed for days during their cycle.

There are a number of menstrual cramp relief remedies available but what women want is one that will stop the pain every month. Often the easiest way to help stop this is complaint to just take a pain relief tablet. Drug manufacturers were quick to formulate a remedy which most people know as Pamprin. Now, it is true to say that some women do not like taking any type of prosolution medication but perhaps it’s now time to think about that stance.

Perhaps you feel that you’re meant to experience this stomach pain but that isn’t the case. To make matters worse, the cramps are only part of the problem if you are one of those individuals who also has to put up with nausea and a constant bloated feeling. After some time of enduring these pains I realized that I was only hurting myself and looked into other menstrual cramp relief remedies. Of course when the complaint is irregular it can be even more annoying because there were some cycles where I felt almost no discomfort at all!

There are times when nothing seems to give me any relief but someone suggested I try a heat pad on my stomach which worked quite well although sometimes it works better against my back. This might be something you want to try if you have found that pain relief pills are not the route you want to go. However, if you endure more painful menstrual cramps you may need to try something stronger. The problem worsens when every month regular as clockwork you have to call in sick from your job.

This situation really needs to be stopped as soon as possible so an appointment with your doctor to find another form of menstrual cramp relief would be a good idea. They may have options you have not considered, so if you aren’t currently on the Pill, this may be something you want to try because for many women, being on the Pill reduces or even eliminates their cramps. The only time this probably won’t be the ideal solution is if you have planned to have a child in the near future in which case your doctor should be able to advise you further of any dangers and options to help ease your cramp situation. Don’t give up on your search because a remedy does exist if you are persistent.
